Every year at our Hi-Lites Aveda company holiday party we usually do a gift exchange of some sort.  This year a great opportunity has come our way and I am so excited for us to be a part of it.

“For the Children” is an organization that was brought to me by one of my employees because he knew how dear to my heart it would be.  “For the Children” is a foster care organization and this Saturday is their Christmas Party. There are 48 children that have been taken from their homes with only the shirts on their backs.

Noel, the chairperson in charge of heading up this project has asked if we could help in any way.  Well you know me, I don't do anything halfway, so this is what we are doing. They asked if we could sponsor the event by purchasing a couple bikes to raffle off at their Christmas party.  My answer to that is “no”, “every kid should get a new bike from Santa for Christmas, all 48!”

Plus, I am dedicating one day in January to do makeovers on all the kids and the foster care parents for stepping up to care for these children. The Hi-Lites Aveda team will be pitching in their money that we would normally be spent on our company gift exchange to purchase as many bikes as possible. 

Our plea to you, is to help us come up with the rest of the money for the 48 bikes by Christmas. Any extra monies will go toward helmets. This is a great opportunity to do a good deed for those in need. It is times like this that make up stop and give thanks for the life we have, as bad as it may seem to some of us, it truly is blessed!

Due to the late notice and how quick I need to take action, I need to know ASAP how much you would like to donate? You can donate over the phone (760-328-5441) via credit card or stop by and drop it off at the salon.

We are also taking donations for the make over day in January. I am donating all the payroll and supplies to perform the makeovers but would like to be able to provide each person with the home maintenance required to maintain their new style. I will be sending out another email to support this event when the time comes closer.
