If you haven't already heard about it, pick up any modern style magazine and read about it. It's the hottest and newest trend to hit the eyes. This procedure takes approx 1- 1 ½ hours and takes fine hand-eye coordination. Individual lashes are attached to your already existing lashes to make them longer and thicker. SOME POLICIES TO REMEMBER

No-children- As cute as they are, if they do not have a reservation with us, please leave your children at home so you can relax and enjoy the true experience of Hi-Lites Aveda.
No-Cell Phones- Please remember to turn off your cell phone or pager.
Cancellations- We require a 24-hour cancellation notice on reservations under 2 hours and a 48-hour notice on all reservations of 2 hours or more. We know life can throw a few curve balls at you so we allow up to three cancellations without proper notice being given. A credit card will be required on all future reservations after the third incident. Any future incidents will result in being charged the full price of the reservation.
No shows- If you fail to show or cancel your reservation after your scheduled time, a credit card will be required on all future reservations. Any future incidents of no shows or cancellation without proper notice will result in being charged the full price of the reservation.
Chemical Procedure Guarantee- We guarantee all chemical hair procedures within 7-days but only with the purchase of recommended home maintenance. You wouldn't purchase a red silk dry clean only shirt, go home and wash it in hot water and expect it to look the same when you take it out of the dryer.
Haircut Guarantee- We guarantee all haircuts within 7-days of original reservation.
Retail Guarantee- We don't want you keeping anything in your cabinet that you're not happy with, so bring it back and exchange it for something that works. All hair products are guaranteed for credit or can be exchanged for something else within 30 days. Don't hesitate to ask one of our Aveda associates to help you find the proper home maintenance that best fits your hair style.

PROM IS COMING

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

• March 24th- We were proud to sponsor the Golden Apple Awards at the Doral for the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce by presenting 24 teachers with a $250 gift certificate to Hi-Lites Aveda. In total, Hi-Lites donated over $6000 to these well deserved teachers.
• March 25th- Rebecca and Ionie represented Hi-Lites Aveda at the Gardens on El Paseo for their fashion show. These girls know the meaning of teamwork!
• March 26th – 29th- Ionie attended Aveda Skinwise. An intense, advanced hands-on 4 day Aveda seminar for Estheticians wanting to take their career to the next level.
• April 2nd & 3rd – Chris, Sandy, Ana G & Ana O went to an Aveda National Convention, Master Jam. A show to remember for all advanced hair consultants. They were part of an elite group that were the first to see and learn all the latest color and cuts that are about to hit the streets and have brought them back to teach to the rest of the Hi-Lites hair team. So if you're ready for a change, get excited because we know image is everything when it comes to success and we can give it to you. In more ways than one!
• April 4th – Chris and Ana G were honored and chosen to attend a hands-on advanced “Color Magic” color class taught by one of Avedas elite colorists. It's educational events such as these that makes Hi-Lites Aveda the Valley's cutting edge place of what's hip.
• April 4th- The Bridges of Hope held a fashion show to raise money for the underprivileged. Hi-Lites did extreme makeovers on 6 models and needless to say the results were amazing.
• April 5th- Hi-Lites Aveda had our official ribbon cutting for our new location. Look for our picture in next months Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce bulletin or in our lobby during your next visit.
• April 18th- Rebecca represented Hi-Lites Aveda at Palm Springs High School for their prom expo. Educating the students on hair and make-up tips for prom.
• April 20th - Hi-Lites Aveda hosted April's Chamber Mixer for the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce. We had great food catered from Trilussa and as always a great turnout. Another successful event where everyone was a winner.
• April 24th- Rebecca, Nick & Ionie donated a day of their talents to help raise money for Earth month at the Gardens on El Paseo. All proceeds went to the California Native Plant Society. Good job team!

IONIE WANTS YOU TO KNOW…

I am so excited to share with you what I learned during my 4 days at Aveda Skinwise. There's no possible way to summarize all of my new knowledge into one paragraph, but I'll do my best to give you a little taste. Okay, so we're all experiencing stress in our everyday lives…you're running late for work and it seems like every traffic light is red, everybody is going 25 miles per hour on Hwy 111, you turn on the TV and there's a war going on, it seems like there's no way to avoid getting worked up for some reason or another. Stress wreaks havoc on the body and skin. It is the main cause of inflammation in the body and if you weren't already aware, inflammation leads to aging. So, this is an open invitation to you to come and experience what the slightest touch, healing aroma, and a deep cleansing breath can do for you and your skin. Once you are completely relaxed and in the parasympathetic mode, your body will then be willing to heal itself from deep within and I promise, you will see an amazing change in your skin. Here's a little something you can do for yourself at home: before going to bed, rub a few drops of Sandalwood and Rose Singular Notes on the soles of your feet for grounding and balancing. Our feet are a universal stress point and that one minute of pampering will definitely help you achieve a more peaceful sleep cycle.

WHAT'S JUNE BEEN UP TO?

And I don't mean the month of June. They say, “Your value is built by the results of your presence.” Actually no one ever said that, at least not that I know of. It just sounded good so I thought I'd use it. What I really want to say is, June is a rock star and that's what came to mind when I thought of what to say about her! She is out there representing Hi-Lites 7 days a week and doing wonders for Hi-Lites Aveda. From speaking every Sunday morning at 9:00 am at the Lawrence Welk Resort, Tuesday mornings at 8am at the Oasis, as well as other various time share resorts in the valley. You will also find her at the monthly 7am Chamber power breakfasts, as well as always being present at the nighttime Chamber mixers and other events around the Valley. June is always making sure that everyone knows who we are, what we do and what we believe in. So I thought I would add a section to our newsletter to let everyone know how much we appreciate her. Good job June!

TRILUSSA RESTAURANTE- I know many of you have been asking for months, when is that restaurant going to open? Well they are open and it was worth the wait. Come support the center and have a great meal with a great view. Beautiful fountains, beautiful mountains and great food. Or if you are more the take out kind of person they offer 10% off for take out.

THE MAD FRENCH LADY- Please come down to the Mary Pickford Center and help The Mad French Lady Gourmet Foods celebrate its grand opening later this month.  The owner, Sandrine Maubert, is Excited to be opening the store and serving all of the desert communities.  She brings a wealth of experience with her to the Valley and has worked with some of the top epicurean stores in Europe and here in the States. The store will emphasize French and European gourmet foods along with a host of fun and exciting kitchenware, dinnerware and gifts.  The shop will be a great stop for caviar, cheese, gift baskets, foie gras and a multitude of savory meats, cheeses and dry goods. In addition, she will be serving gourmet sandwiches at lunchtime.  One of the store's main goals is to emphasize quality of foods and excellent taste and offer the public some good old-fashioned service, just like on the world renowned pedestrian markets in Paris. The desert is growing up and this mature epicurean shop is evidence of good things to come!
